Klaudia Marcinkovics – Celebrity Tan Artist – Man Tan 2017

Klaudia03In 2013 when Klaudia started preparing for her first fitness show she needed a tan that would give her the best presentation for her muscle definition. So she went about educating herself on achieving a perfect spray tan. She didn’t know then that she would fall in love with the world of spray tanning! She was also pretty lucky to be trained by the celebrity tanner James Harknett in a variety of techniques and having achieved a high level of expertise in applying the perfect tan, in January 2015 she gained the Master Tanner qualification from SiennaX.

Born in 1983 in Budapest, Hungary Klaudia moved to London in 2011 to work as a make up artist. Then in 2013 she followed her passion into the fitness arena and effortlessly adapted the lifestyle as part of her life. In 2014 she took part of her first fitness show WBFF London and I became a master tanner.

Klaudia Marcinkovics now resides in Los Angeles where we were lucky enough to sit down with her and discuss the sunless tanning industry and the “Man Tan”.

[Tell us a bit about how you got into the beauty and sunless tanning industry?]
Beauty and fashion always been part of my life. About 5 years ago I started to prepping to my first fitness show I needed a good tanner I didn’t know anyone so I educated myself… Slowly but surely I worked my way up to London elite…

[Why is it important to have a spray tanning artist apply your tanning product?]
Well to having spraytan done by a pro is a completely different experience than self tanning at home or even spraytan machine in a beauty salons. The session is personalised, usually we use HVLP machine to spray the solution evenly. We also able to customise the tan (with scents and with shimmer drops etc.), but my absolute favourite is bespoke sculpting and contouring.

[What is your busiest and favorite time of year?]
It’s a good question, all year around to be honest. Spraytan used to be used mainly on red carpet events. Nowadays it’s essential part of our everyday ( with spraytan we can maintain the healthy looking skin without sun exposure).

[What make a Man’s spray tan different than a Woman’s?]
Man tan is similar but different, it’s a growing segment of the tanning industry however the biggest difference in my opinion majority of men don’t want to give away their little secret if you know what I mean. :)

[Man tan vs. ladies tan?]
Pretty similar, but with man we need to be more careful due to their facial hair etc, requires a little bit more preparation. However worth it make such big differences little bit of contouring on the male body. :)

[How important is contouring and why is this critical for Men?]
Man and woman both love contouring just imagine, in few in minutes you look more toned, slimmer. Playing with shadows and lights give us opportunity to hide what we don’t like and with highlights we can emphasis what we like the most. When you tanned everything looks, feels better spray tanning definitely has therapeutic effects.

[Why and when do guys get a spray tan?]
Anytime, guys who like spraytan having it weekly, they like to maintain their healthy sun kissed look all year around. In London I used to do corporate events I went to the office on Friday afternoon and I tanned like 10 people… usually have regular, returning clients as it’s a very confidential business…

[How long does it take, walk us through the process :)]
Usually I spent 30 min at the client’s place. The pre and after care very important for a long lasting spraytan.

[Give us your top 5 celebrity guys who have a great tan.]
Zac Efron- countering is on point
Bradley Cooper
Mark Wahlberg
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Leonardo DiCaprio

[Who is your “goal” guy to tan in 2107?]
I would be happy any of these people:);
Leonardo DiCaprio, Marky Mark, JLO, Beyoncé
